Project Overview
Zaha Hadid Architects’ design for the OPPO Headquarters in Shenzhen reimagines the corporate high-rise as a dynamic, civic, and connected environment.
Following an international design competition, ZHA was commissioned to create a new global headquarters for OPPO, China’s leading smartphone brand and one of the world’s top five manufacturers.
The result is a 200-metre-tall ensemble of four interlinked towers—a vertical campus that embodies the company’s culture of innovation, connectivity, and openness.
Together, these towers form a unified architectural statement: fluid, transparent, and deeply integrated into the public life of Shenzhen.

Design Concept
The 185,000 m² development comprises two primary office towers with flexible, column-free floorplates, connected by a 20-storey vertical atrium—a soaring space that brings natural light and visual connectivity to every level.
Flanking these are two external service towers housing vertical circulation and mechanical systems. By relocating the service cores to the exterior, ZHA achieves uninterrupted panoramic views across Shenzhen Bay and maximizes internal flexibility for future adaptation.
At the city scale, the towers taper at their base to open generous civic plazas and a public walkway that diagonally traverses the site, linking directly to Shenzhen’s subway network.
This gesture transforms the headquarters into an urban gateway—a building that belongs as much to the city as to the company.

Spatial Experience
Inside, the building’s atrium spaces act as connective tissue between departments, encouraging collaboration and cross-disciplinary exchange.
Daylight filters through the atrium, activating a range of open, informal meeting zones and circulation paths designed to stimulate creativity and spontaneous dialogue.
Above the workspace levels, the 10th-floor Sky Plaza introduces restaurants, lounges, and leisure areas accessible to both employees and the public—while the rooftop Sky Lab becomes a public observation deck with panoramic views across Shenzhen’s skyline.
This layered experience of transparency, openness, and engagement redefines the corporate office as a vertical community—a civic landmark that celebrates innovation through spatial generosity.

Sustainability and Technology
Continuing ZHA’s pursuit of performance-driven design, the OPPO Headquarters is engineered to achieve LEED Gold certification from the US Green Building Council.
Developed using advanced 3D Building Information Modelling (BIM) and integrated energy management systems, the design optimizes natural light, energy efficiency, and environmental control across all zones.
The result is a high-performance architectural system—technologically advanced, spatially expressive, and environmentally responsive.
